Well, getting a late star but better late then never.
I had a job to finish up early on in the month and wouldn't you know it  a couple of days before I was done I broke my big toe. That sounds pretty insignificant but it makes for a slow go of it getting about.
I have to admit with the price structure of furs sliding fast I'm finding it hard to get motivated too.
Upshot of it is I'm not working very hard at it but I do have some new traps to test so there will be a few trap line pics.
Had some traps out for about a week now.

Something I never had happen before. This beaver was caught in a pond with a thick deposit of rotting alder leaves on the bottom. With the new traps its feet went through the mesh and were down in this muck. Two day check and its feet were slipping. Did not affect the fur as it was above the muck.

Love it but I tried a little different approach on a couple. I had a coupler to go over the end. The idea being they wouldn't be able to stick their nose out and get any air and would be out faster. Not working as well. In the act of putting the pipe coupler on the trap they sprayed a little. I guess that is just a little too much jostling.

Caught two more today. Probably seems like bottom of the barrel trapping but probably worth as much as a couple beaver and a lot less work. Call me crazy but I enjoy catching a civet as much as a lot of other fur bearers.

 Your definitely the civet king! My wife wants one pretty bad so I guess I should finally set a trap for one. I actually catch quite a few in my bobcat traps but they squeeze out of them. Really cool double on otters!

Believe it or not, skunks can fetch 18 to 30 dollars here in NoDak. Especially if the stink sacks are intact. Haven't dealt with any this year but they certainly don't get thrown out.

I like them but the use of them has given me new ideas for improving them. I'd like to try a 10x10x32 folding as a swim through. Also had a mini brain storm on my folding to make set up a little faster.
It seems that perfect trap is always just out of reach. Maybe some day.
